One of New York’s finest young star guards announced big news Thursday as he embarks on the next chapter of his journey. Harlem and 845 native Lamont Edwards announced earlier today that he will continue his professional basketball career with KB Pogradeci in Albania, Eastern Europe, for the 2024-25 season in the Albanian Basketball Federation.

He’s coming off a great season with Metapan Basket of El Salvador, where he was named to the All-Catalyst First Team in his second season as a pro. However, it wasn’t always an easy journey for Edwards, as he’s had to overcome much adversity throughout his career, from torn ligaments in his left hand and painful shin splints to some coaches not giving him full opportunity to display his talent (crazy, right?).

Through the years, Edward's tireless hard work, perseverance, and dedication have shown his resiliency in chasing his dreams. The results of his dedication were on full display at a Pro Showcase Performance in front of KB Pogradeci representatives at the NY/NJ Pro showcase.

Here’s the first visual interview I did and his first on his career and life journey:

Edward's story is about resiliency, relentlessness, and never giving up. He gives back to his community, where he is partnered with a non-profit organization, Samaritan’s Feet International, where he donates shoes to kids in the Bronx, along with an uplifting message telling kids to follow their dreams.

Pogradeci will not only be getting a new star starting guard but also a gold standard for what all humans should strive to be.
